- Reddam House seeks to hire a passionate and experienced collaborative pianist (accompanist) and piano teacher for this full-time, permanent position, supporting the development of young musicians in a varied and dynamic role. This is an exciting opportunity to join a new music department which builds on the established success of our programme, with a collaborative approach to music education that balances academic excellence with artistic achievement. Our music department will play a central role in delivering the very best in music pedagogy and performance, engaging students throughout both Primary and High School. In this position, you will be a valued member of the Music Department team, working with students individually and in classroom/ensemble settings.
You will have the chance to help shape a flourishing music program from the ground up while benefiting from the established practices and renowned excellence of Reddam House's performing arts program.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Accompaniment of morning ensembles and choirs
- Preparing, accompanying and supervising student musicians for weekly school assemblies, recitals, competitions, special events, excursions and tours
- Prepare and perform with elective music students for academic Music performance assessments, including performing as part of an ensemble
- Lead groups of students in ensemble rehearsals and performances
- Deliver high quality piano lessons in an individual setting
**THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE**:
- Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree majoring in Piano Performance/Collaborative Piano, or equivalent
- Strong sight-reading and aural skills (including conventional notation and chord charts)
- Ability and experience engaging students of all ages (including both Primary and High School students), including in a supervisory role
- A passion for music education and nurturing student talent
- Strong performance skills and recent professional performance experience, with experience performing in a range of styles
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, fostering positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
- Organisational and administrative abilities to effectively manage lesson schedules, ensemble rehearsals, and student progress
- A commitment to staying current with the latest developments in music teaching practices and pedagogy
- Arranging skills and familiarity with music technology software/keyboard programming are desirable
- A valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) Classroom teaching qualifications are not required
