About the role

Join our team of expert scientists and medical professionals at the forefront of transplantation and transfusion diagnostic testing and analysis to find the best donor compatibility. You will provide your specialist expertise to Lifeblood in Immunology to enhance outcomes for solid organ and stem cell recipients; platelet and neutrophil testing for platelet and neutrophil immunobiology and related transfusion reactions and in the supervision of protein electrophoresis testing.

In conjunction with the above you will also play a lead role in our focus on service excellence and compliance with laboratory regulatory and accreditation obligations. We are looking for a dynamic, skilled and team orientated consultant immunopathologist to join our Transplantation and Immunogenetics Service (TIS) and work with other members of the Pathology Services team to deliver leading edge outcomes for patients

Appropriate medical qualifications including RCPA Fellowship and AHPRA registration -as a specialist immunopathologist

PhD in a relevant field would be highly desirable

Willingness to enrol and complete ASHI director training (within 4 years)

Relevant experience and interest in transplantation immunology along with experience in tissue typing, immunogenetics and protein electrophoresis testing

Strong Laboratory focus

Ability to work independently, in collaboration with other staff and as a member of a team to build a positive culture where professional knowledge is shared

An excellent communicator, with effective stakeholder skills to work with both internal and external customers

This is a permanent part time role (days a week) and can be based in Sydney or Melbourne location.
