**Overview**

The Women's and Children's Hospital provides state of the art health care for women and children in Adelaide and South Australia. We are the state’s leading provider of specialist care for children with acute and chronic conditions and SA’s largest maternity and obstetric service. We also provides important community-based services.

Each year, more than 30,000 people are admitted and about 5000 babies are born at the hospital. In addition more than 250,000 people come to the hospital as outpatients.

The hospital has 295 beds. The hospital’s paediatric and adolescent wards cater for all paediatric specialties. Women’s wards provide antenatal, gynaecology, neonatal and postnatal care.

**The Opportunity**

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Surgical Services team as a **Visiting Medical Officer **in **Spinal Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgery **on a **part time temporary** contract until 30th June 2024.**

As the **Visiting Medical Specialist** you will provide medical care to public and private inpatients and outpatients, develop education and research portfolios and encourage and support teamwork amongst staff for optimal clinical service outcomes for Spinal Paediatric Orthopaedic conditions.

**About You**

To be eligible for this role you are required to have Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent and appropriate Specialist Qualifications and registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration (where appropriate); or another qualification as defined in the S Health Visiting Medical Specialists Enterprise Agreement 2017 (or its successor).

You should have Clinical experience as Fellow and/or Consultant or Visiting Medical Specialist in Spinal Paediatric Surgery and an extensive clinical experience as a Medical Officer within a large public hospital.
