**The Role**
The number 42 Wing Security Manager is responsible for security assurance for the E-7A Wedgetail and MC-55A Peregrine capabilities.
In order to achieve security assurance, the successful applicant will demonstrate a suitable knowledge of ADF security requirements (policy, physical security, cyber security), and show an ability to lead and manage a team of security specialists.
Some key functions include:
- Drawing conclusions from technical data to establish, maintain and advise on risk management practices and procedures.
- Providing strategic risk guidance, including the evaluation and recommendation of technical controls.
- Ensuring risk management frameworks comply with relevant laws, regulations and policies to minimise or eliminate risk and audit findings.
- Establishing and maintaining practices and procedures in alignment with governing bodies.
- Contributing to and reviewing accreditation artefacts.
- Collaborating with other agencies involved in assurance requirements.
- Providing guidance and advice regarding security processes to maintain accreditation status.
- Managing security incidents and related to assets, including intellectual property, regulated data and reputation.
- Monitoring the external threat environment for emerging threats and advising relevant stakeholders on the appropriate courses of action.

You will be able to work autonomously to achieve organisational goals and will have a demonstrated ability to prioritise work efforts, balancing operational tasks with longer-term strategic security efforts.
