**What does the internship involve?**

Learning from the editorial team, you will be guided through the entire publishing process. You will develop skills in writing, researching, editing, SEO, social media, producing content for digital and print, image sourcing and fact checking.

You will discover how to approach an article brief from start to finish: from conception and research, to writing and seeing your work published.

You will learn how to create and manage content across a range of print, web and social media platforms and have the opportunity to have your work published. You will receive real world experience working for a well-established and trusted company in the media industry.

You will learn and develop your skills in:

- Our publishing process and what makes a good magazine
- How to write a great travel article
- Researching and creating articles for both print and online publications
- SEO, keyword research and writing digital travel articles
- Social media and community management
- Proofreading and sub editing
- Adobe Indesign basics
- Image sourcing
- Fact checking

**About Us**

Signature Media is Australia’s largest independent publisher of travel content. Our titles include _Signature Luxury Travel & Style, Vacations & Travel, Holidays with Kids, Caravan & Camping with Kids, Ski & Snowboard with Kids_ and _LATTE_: Australia's only luxury travel trade e-newsletter. We have digital platforms for each of these titles and produce content daily. We also have a custom publishing arm and produce print and digital content for clients.

Best suited to a journalism or media student (either currently undertaking or recently having completed studies). The successful applicant will possess the following qualities:

- A strong desire to learn about and be a part of this industry
- An impeccable grasp of the English language and the ability to spot spelling, grammar and consistency errors
- A proactive work ethic
- A love for travel and a desire to share the world with others
- An interest in websites, digital and print content
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills
- Attention to detail

- In addition to a nominal day rate, you will have an opportunity to travel and have your article published in one of our magazines and online. Previous interns have been sent to Japan, Bali, Vietnam, Outback Queensland, New Zealand, Norfolk Island and Hawaii.

- Over the years of running our internship programs, we have employed many of our best interns on a full time basis on completion of their internship. Others have gone on to excellent positions in the industry.

**Key facts**

Internship length: 3 days per week for 6 months, as you’ll see two full print cycles. We are flexible around your study requirements and work requirements.

Remuneration: we pay a nominal fee of $110 a day to help cover travel and living expenses.

Location: in our Chatswood office and from home.
