Ballarat Family Dental is a fun, modern practice looking for an experienced dental assistant who is committed to the profession, and loves being there for the patients to make sure they feel welcomed, comfortable and receive the best quality care possible.

We are looking for a dental assistant with industry experience who is passionate about quality infection control. As a practice, we are offering a career, not a job. As a team, we value training, support and education. Communication plays a huge part in the success of our word-of-mouth referral-based practice. This role is suited to both someone who wishes to eventually branch into a role with more responsibilities as well as someone who wishes to consistently come to work, get the job done well, and go home.

You understand the importance of bringing value to your team and the patients every day. You are organised, people often say you have consistently shown great time management skills because your workflow and thought processes always prioritises efficiency. You are a self-starter. You pay good attention to details because it is important to do things right when it comes to infection control practices. You can think on your feet and don't get flustered when under time pressure. You enjoy conquering the tougher days and celebrating even the small wins with your team mates

You will always have a 50min lunch break on weekdays.

The work hours are 4 weekdays a week with Saturday on rotation.

You will need to be available between 7:40am-6:00pm Mon-Fri, 8:00am-3:00pm Sat. The days you work will be negotiated.

If you don' t have the skillsets we require of you, we can train you up so that you can follow our protocols and systems.

There is a strong emphasis on quality and consistency in following all OH&S and infection control policies at our practice.

Ultimately, the purpose the dental assistant plays is to:
1. keep our patients feeling welcomed, comfortable and safe at every visit.

2. keep the clinician you are dental assisting for organised and working efficiently by making sure they have everything they need and staying 3 steps ahead at all times

Knowledge in 4-handed dentistry and note taking for clinicians is ideal but not essential (but you must be teachable to achieve these skills, learning to do them well within the first 3 months of starting with our company, if you can't already).

A certificate III in dental assisting is required to qualify for this role and the ability and willingness to take on feedback, be a team player by helping out in all parts of the dental clinic during clinical down time, learn and adapt to our clinic's protocols amd systems is a must.

All patients are screened for Covid-19 symptoms prior to their appointments and are asked to alcohol hand rub as they enter

**Experience**:

- Dental assistance: 1 year (preferred)
