**JOB PURPOSE**:
Responsible to the Director of Engineering for ensuring effective the day-to-day management for engineering projects. Oversees and coordinates the cost/schedule/technical aspects of ongoing engineering projects within the program guidelines set by the Program Manager and customer. Responsible to assign a Project Engineer to each project/program to serve as single point-of-contact between engineering, project management, project planning and control, the engineering project team, and capability managers.

Key aspects of the role include reviewing the status of engineering projects and budgets and providing oversight of project execution. This relies in assesses engineering project performance and issues, and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives. Develops mechanisms for monitoring engineering project progress and for intervention and problem solving with engineering project managers, line managers, and customers. Ensures coordination between resource managers/supervisors and ensures all necessary reviews and approvals are performed.

Manages experienced professionals or team(s) led by lower-level supervisors or managers. Responsible for supporting the creation of workforce and staffing plans for team to ensure availability of human capital necessary to accomplish the required business results. Required to frequently work in partnership with the L3HCA senior leadership team, US based program managers, PLMs, and engineering leaders, whilst maintaining proactive and effective customer engagement and communication.

**SKILL AND EXPERIENCE**:
Essential
- 7+ years management experience in complex defence projects with relevance to this role;
- Comprehensive business management knowledge, general management, and leadership capability;
- Broad management and leadership knowledge to lead cross-department project teams;
- Demonstrated experience in project risk management;
- Experience in Earned Value Management and acting as a Cost Account Manager;
- Ability to communicate with senior leadership and stakeholders.

Desirable
- Mastery within either systems engineering, software development, network design, platform integration, or broad expertise across multiple related relevant technical areas;
- Experience in project estimation and planning, and the development of schedules;
**EDUCA**TION/QUALIFICATIONS**:
Essential
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent, or Bachelor of Business or equivalent, with a minimum of 12 years of prior related experience or Graduate Degree with a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience;
- Current NV1 Security Clearance or the ability to attain.

Desirable
- Diploma of Project Management or a Bachelor of Business (Management)
- Industry-recognised certification, such as the Project Management Professional certification
