The SASH North Ryde hospital was established in 2007 and is located just 20 minutes north of Sydney’s CBD, in New South Wales, Australia. Our team provides exceptional care to over 40,000 patients each year across our ever-increasing network. Having recently opened our fourth hospital, SASH is continuing to invest in our team with the latest equipment and technology. SASH provides the most comprehensive, 24-hour on-site service available in Australia, giving our team and patients an unparalleled experience. The North Ryde Hospitals recent refurbishment includes 6 brand new theatres, a large surgery prep area and new ward/treatment areas, to ensure the best possible nursing care, with support from 4 anaesthetists. Our other specialist departments include internal medicine, neurology and neurosurgery, surgery and rehabilitation, oncology (including radiation oncology), dermatology, diagnostic imaging (including MRI), emergency & critical care and exotics.

Our Ophthalmology team is well equipped with diagnostic and surgical equipment, including Bausch & Lomb phacoemulsification unit, ultrasound unit (and separate UBM), Zeiss operating microscopes, Diovet laser cyclophotocoagulation unit, cryosurgical equipment and ERG units.
At SASH, we believe that the most advanced technology is not where investment stops with training the next generation also important, and we have internship and residency programs in many of the specialist services, including ophthalmology. We also strive to provide our team with tools for personal development and SASH has invested in an extensive leadership program across the veterinary and nursing teams throughout our network.

**The Ophthalmologist Position**:
The SASH team is looking for our fourth Ophthalmology specialist to join our North Ryde based team, which consists of 1 Registrar, 1 Resident and 2 ophthalmology Interns. The position will also be well supported by our team of nurses with support from anaesthesia and critical care. You will work in a dynamic and collegiate environment, drawing on the knowledge and experience from specialists in other disciplines to reach the best outcome for your patients.

To be considered for this position, we are looking for:

- A board certified or board eligible Ophthalmologist with either the American, European or Australia college (ACVO, ECVO, ANZCVS). Holding one of these qualifications means that regardless of where your undergraduate degree is from, you are eligible to work as a vet in Australia
- If you have completed a approved training program through ACVO, ECVO or ANZCVS but are yet to sit exams, we'd still love to hear from you.
