Maroondah City Council is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Youth Development Worker to complement the existing Youth and Children's Services Team. The successful applicant will plan, develop & deliver a range of programs, services, and events to assist in raising the wellbeing of young people aged 10-25 years.

Applicants must have excellent rapport building, youth participation and facilitation skills; enabling connecting and engaging young people, to be actively involved in the shaping of their local communities.

With demonstrated ability to use critical analysis and innovation to ensure programs and services are continuously meeting changing needs, your demonstrated experience empowering young people from a strength’s-based approach will ensure success.

Relevant tertiary qualifications and a proven ability to engage and work with internal and external stakeholders including schools and community groups are essential. Knowledge of and commitment to Positive Psychology practices and the Victorian Youth Sector’s Code of Ethical Practice is an advantage.

Collaboration and creativity within a team environment is required, together with flexibility in working hours. This position involves some after-hours work and occasional weekend work to deliver events.
