We are a smaller Council, offering diverse and rewarding work. As a Payroll Officer you will be part of a small but ambitious Council, supporting our greatest asset - our staff.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to utilise your payroll skills to provide the full range of Payroll Services.

Your commencing annual salary will range from $88,590 to $107,905 plus superannuation dependent on your experience and qualifications.

**What you'll be working on**

In this autonomous role you will be responsible for the timely and accurate preparation and processing of Council's fortnightly payroll. This will include the provision of reports to management, expert advice and consultation on relevant legislation, awards, policies and procedures to management and staff.

In addition, you will assist with administration of workers compensation matters and manage return to work for injured works. To facilitate the process, you will liaise with a range of internal and external stakeholders and industry bodies.

**What you'll bring to the role**

To be successful in this role you will bring demonstrated experience in payroll management and workers compensation including thorough knowledge of payroll and taxation legislation.

You will be the primary liaison point for staff in relation to payroll and workers compensation matters and your experience will enable you to ensure best practice service delivery for Council. You will have the people skills to quickly build strong relationships with line management and staff.

Experience in Local Government and knowledge of Authority Payroll and TechnologyOne ECM software are not mandatory but will be highly regarded.

In addition to the above you will also hold a valid Covid-19 vaccination.
