THE ROLE

Drive the design of, and communications for, the University’s new staff intranet. Project-based role for 12 months.
- From $127,609 to $134,775 per annum (HEW Level 9), plus 17% employer's superannuation and annual leave loading.
- Full-time, fixed-term role for 12 months. Based at Wallumattagal campus, North Ryde.
- Transform the University’s intranet to improve knowledge sharing and staff engagement.

The Communications team within Group Marketing is seeking a Business Lead to work closely with the Intranet project and governance teams, and IT Project Manager, to develop and implement a new staff intranet for the University. It is anticipated that better communication channels, improved knowledge sharing and easier access to services will improve productivity, increase employee engagement, and strengthen the University’s ability to adapt to ongoing organisational change. The benefits of the Staff Intranet Portal are aligned with the Our People, Ways of Working and Digital Transformation Operating Plan program streams.

Reporting to the Director, Communications, you will:

- Support the development and implementation of the strategy for the University’s new staff intranet.
- Drive, manage, coordinate and deliver the content and provide expert advice about the overarching design principles, policies and development for the intranet.
- Work closely with stakeholders on the principles, benefits and requirements of the new intranet, and navigate content outcomes with stakeholders to ensure compliance and benefits of the new intranet are realised.
- Deliver communications advice to stakeholders to support the transition, engaging with the Group Marketing Communications team on the communications strategy and roll out for the change, as well as provide guidance on intranet communications issues and opportunities including proactively mitigating risks.
- Develop, implement and be responsible for the management of policies, processes, workflow and governance for the editorial and online content, including requirements for accessibility and privacy legislation.
- Coordinate the review of old content, decisions about migration and development of new content with stakeholders, where required.
- Provide advice, training and support to the wider Group Marketing team and key clients on producing intranet content and features for maximum impact.
- In collaboration with the Intranet project team, evaluate and report on progress of the intranet development and drive accountability against the project plan deadlines.
- Ongoing review of the intranet to identify opportunities for growing and simplifying the information sharing across the University, including productivity and self-service.
- Build and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including third party suppliers, ensuring communications support is being delivered to an excellent standard.

To Apply- Relevant degree qualification or equivalent industry experience in marketing, communications, business or project management.
- Experience in leading and/or executing change management projects in a large and complex organisation.
- Expertise in the development and execution of organisation-wide communications strategies with a focus on driving organisational engagement.
- Expert writing and editing skills, strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and ability to manage multiple requirements.
- Understanding and working/technical knowledge of SharePoint.

Desirable
- Experience producing online content, and delivering intranet and web projects.
- Managing complex communications issues and providing expert advice and recommendations to maximise audience engagement.
- Familiar with analytics and the importance of, and tools in, measuring the effectiveness of websites and software systems.
