**The Opportunity**

New and exciting opportunity for a Legal Operations Specialist to join our high performing and motivated legal team. As a member of the Global Team, you will be reporting to the Assistant General Counsel - APAC, with a dotted line to the Legal Operations Manager.

As the Legal Operations Specialist you will be responsible for providing analytical, technical and certain administrative support to James Hardie’s Legal and Compliance Department.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Analytical, technical and certain administrative support to James Hardie’s global Legal and Compliance Department**
**(60%)**:

- At the direction of the Assistant General Counsel, provide overall support of James Hardie’s Compliance Program including:

- Helping further define and develop the compliance process.
- Acting as secretary for the Global Compliance Committee including scheduling meetings, assisting with the preparation and circulation of meeting papers, minute taking and assisting with the follow up on action items.
- Drafting procedure and process documents and presentations
- Provide paralegal and administrative support to global LCD including, but not limited to:

- o Drafting correspondence, fact gathering, information retrieval and document analysis in support of various practice areas.
- Coordinating meetings and workflow between members of the LCD and business partners as necessary.
- Assisting with word processing and formatting documents, developing slide decks.

**Legal Operations and Systems administration of global legal platforms (30%)**:

- At the direction of Legal Operations, provide and analyze data to support JH legal, accounting, and operations;
- Assist legal operations in process improvement and procedural initiatives as relate to the global LCD’s software solutions;
- Administer global legal systems as directed by Legal Operations;
- Assist in the development and implementation of legal operations initiatives;
- Assist in process improvement initiatives at the direction of legal Operations;
- Assist in project management for LCD initiatives

**Company Secretarial Support (10%)**
- Assist the Deputy Company Secretary and APAC Senior Legal Counsel on company secretarial matters relating to the APAC subsidiaries of James Hardie including:

- Preparation of various corporate entity records and maintain system for ensuring records and database are up to date;
- Keeping the global entity database updated with respect to APAC subsidiaries;
- Assisting with the preparation of board packs and minutes

**About You**
- Bachelor’s degree in law, business or business-related field is preferred but not required
- A paralegal certificate or at least 5 years’ experience in a law firm or corporate legal department is required
- Experience working within a corporate legal department or law firm is highly desirable.
- Expertise in knowledge management, e-billing, and document management systems.
- Knowledge of corporate governance and compliance functions and processes, as well as experience in e-billing processes and vendor management.
- Ability to develop, improve, document and provide high quality deliverables.
- Strong Office 365 skills (word, excel, Teams, SharePoint).
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills with a proven track record.
- Ability to be detailed while having a strong understanding of the bigger picture.
- Excellent project management, organizing and planning skills, with a proven track record in implementing improvement projects.
- An energetic, hands-on individual with a strong bias for action, someone who commits himself/herself fully to stretch goals, is receptive to ongoing coaching and development and who is dedicated to delivering outstanding results.
