An exciting new opportunity exists for an experienced and passionate Banquet Manager. Reporting to the Executive Manager - Commercial, the role will be responsible for the service delivery of our brand new function and events space - Southern Sydney Events Centre Hurstville.

Our brand new state-of-the-art, purpose-built event Centre is the largest event venue in Southern Sydney, provides the perfect space for your corporate or social function. Renovated and newly decorated in December 2021 with stylish contemporary finishes, our venue can host 10 to 1000 guests in a variety of spaces and configurations to suit your event.

With free onsite parking and a convenient 2 minute walk from Hurstville train station along with fantastic employee benefits makes this an opportunity not to be missed. There are also endless opportunities to grow.

Our organisation has a strong fiscal foundation which has allowed for the continued development of the premises facilities and service offerings. Our Hurstville premises is about to complete its largest expansion to date that will see the addition of 600 seat auditorium, additional dining outlets, expanded gaming floor and a brand new 125 room hotel and unique roof top bar overseeing the sweeping views across Botany Bay. At a cost of $75M, the project is due for completion in December 2021.

We would like the Banquet Manager to commence ideally as soon as possible, however are flexible with notice periods.

**We are looking for someone who will be responsible for**:

- Plan, organise and manage all Front of House (FOH) functions operations on a daily / shift basis.
- Create an environment/culture where functions are always delivered in a professional manner.
- Support the General Manager/Head Chef in the management/process of food & beverage delivery.
- Train all FOH functions staff so they provide a consistent high quality service
- Participate in the rostering of FOH staff.
- Participate in the recruitment of FOH staff.
- Meet, greet and ensure all function clients are happy with what the Club has provided.
- Attend to client/attendees needs as they arise, including problem solving and dealing with difficult situations.
- Ongoing liaison with clients to ensure satisfaction and seek feedback on their experience at completion of event.
- Ensure that the function areas are set and ready before next event.
- 3-years functions/events management experience.
- Experience in running multiple events concurrently and large catered events.
- Experience in proactively dealing with customer complaints.
- The ability to lead, manage and mentor staff to ensure their growth and experience.
- Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- Food Handling Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- Manual Handling Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
