**Events and **Internal Communications Advisor opportunity**
- **Approx. $55-$65 per hour plus Super dependent on experience**:

**About the role**

Our client, a government department, seeks an experienced Events and Internal Communications Advisor to join them on a full-time, 3 month contract for an early January 2023 start. As the Events and Internal Communication Advisor, you will coordinate the logistics and content for the department's internal employee engagement events, including All Staff Forums.

**Key duties**

Reporting directly into the Engagement and Communications Manager, your key tasks and responsibilities will include:

- Planning and delivering successful and engaging internal events that cater to the needs of all the department's employees and meet the objectives of senior leaders. Tasks may include writing speech notes, briefing, promotion, logistics and overall administration.
- Execute internal communications plans to support the achievement of the department's objectives and drive a constructive culture, in line with the department's cultural values.
- Undertake reporting processes to ensure the effectiveness of internal communications practices, as informed by best practice.
- Deliver written materials for a range of internal communications channels to convey key departmental messages and promote collaboration, aligned to the department's strategic plan and cultural values.
- Provide intranet support, by updating content and working with key business areas to develop their intranet framework and copy.

**Experience and Skills**

The skills and experience you will need to demonstrate include:

- Experience working in a communications function within a diverse organisation or department.
- Experience in executing communications plans to achieve planned outcomes.
- Good communications skills, including the ability to write for a range of audiences and media.
- High level of computer literacy, particularly online event platforms (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Teams Live), SharePoint, simple graphic design (e.g., Canva, InDesign or Photoshop), simple video editing, photo libraries/databases, and e-marketing programs like Campaign Monitor.
- Time management, stakeholder management, collaboration and teamwork skills.

**Qualifications**
- Tertiary Qualifications in a relevant field e.g. Communications, Public Relations, Public Policy or extensive experience as an events and internal communications specialist preferably within the government sector
- Experience using online events platforms, including Zoom and Microsoft Teams Live.
- Solid experience with Microsoft SharePoint will be highly regarded.
