**About the Role**

As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a key role keep a company’s manufacturing process always running, the Manufacturing Maintenance Technician (Technician) must ensure that the machines for production are in good condition.

The Technician performs regular preventive and general maintenance on equipment used in manufacturing process to ensure the successful execution of production activities.

The Technician will make use of equipment blueprints to diagnose manufacturing equipment problems and taking necessary actions to rectify them. This will include determining their level of productivity, and when worn-out equipment, which slows down production are detected, initiate replacement.

The technician will also teach and instruct other workers on how to effectively operate machines in carrying out production tasks.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Carefully read manuals of equipment and interpret them to understand how to operate and maintain them properly.
- Inspect newly acquired equipment upon arrival, checking every part to be sure that they are working and meet up with industry standards before they are put to use in the factory.
- Read work orders to confirm the production task is within the capacity of the factory’s equipment to abide by manufacturers’ guidelines; make provision for alternate equipment to handle big production tasks to prevent wearing out.
- Strictly abide by safety regulations during manufacturing activities, keeping equipment in check to avoid mechanical hazards that could cause harm to operators and workers.
- Teach workers how to operate equipment to avoid pressing the wrong buttons that could trigger accidents, which could lead to casualties.
- Supervise the purchase of new equipment, utilizing the knowledge of machine operation in choosing good quality machines for purchase; test machines to determine their durability; return low performing machines in exchange for better ones whenever necessary.
- Carry out routine servicing of equipment (cleaning, greasing etc.) as part of measures to prevent breakdowns and malfunctions, which could affect production activities. This will include cleaning, greasing, and servicing of the equipment.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including equipment maintenance logs and repair documentation to track the lifespan of equipment.
- In consultation with GM organize replacement of equipment when necessary.
- Troubleshoot equipment to determine specific malfunctioning issues and tackle them accordingly.
- Communicate with management or clients to inform them about equipment faults and best maintenance techniques to implement for maximum performance.
- Prioritize daily work orders according to their level of importance.
- Order and manage spare parts and supplies to maintain adequate inventory levels for maintenance and repairs.
- Manage equipment suppliers ensuring they are adhering to SLA’s and PM schedules.
- Help coordinate new factory builds.
- Other maintenance requirements to the our other property.
- Operate a forklift when required.

**Your Experience**
- Strong background in maintenance, servicing and repairs
- Demonstrated experience in fault finding and repairing a range of machinery.
- Prior experience working in a factory/manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated ability to read drawings/blueprints and job specifications/instructions.
- Must hold a valid Forklift license **(mandatory) to operate a forklift.**
- Be physically fit and strong (capable of lifting 20kg plus) with a "can do" attitude.
- Critical thinking ability to troubleshoot and detect malfunctioning
- Excellent time management to work at a good pace, executing work orders and demands
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Practice safe and correct manual handling at all time.
- Ability to work well in a team
- Ability to be able to take direction

**Salary**: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Smithfield, NSW 2164: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Maintenance Technician: 2 years (preferred)
- Manufacturing: 2 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Forklift Licence (required)
