Supports the Director, Security, Transport and Retail in the development, maintenance and management of Deakin’s sustainable transport services that includes; motor vehicle fleet, bus services, micro mobility facilities, parking and supporting the sustainability commitment of the University. Plans, delivers and manages transport and parking services to create a connected suite of secure, safe, cost efficient and sustainable services across Deakin. Manages the operation of the inter campus Bus Service. Maintains the policy and procedure framework that ensures the transport and parking services adhere to all Federal and State statutory and regulatory compliance requirements and conform to University policy and procedure. Develops frameworks and ensures best practice is adhered to across all campuses.

**Your key responsibilities will include**:

- Provide best practice management service for the University’s motor vehicle fleet that includes acquisition, changeover, disposal, maintenance, and accident management, internal charging and associated activities across all campuses.
- Ensure that people responsible for implementing work priorities have role clarity, the authority to act and feel empowered and supported to act
- Investigate and probe for the facts and identify relevant solutions and selects the most appropriate from the range of alternatives for transport and parking systems.
- Promote technical solutions to modernise work practices and ensure alignment with Deakin’s strategic direction
- Challenge existing processes by formulating creative and inclusive alternative solutions and benefits
- Plan and prioritises work and critical activities appropriately and recognises barriers to achieving outcomes, finds effective ways to deal with them and evaluates progress
- Develop and implement practical, accessible solutions based on stakeholder needs
- Review and analyse the motor vehicle asset management system, parking income / expenditure and all other relevant data records and develop annual budget forecast reports and develop business cases.
- Undertake audits and reviews of suppliers directly involved in the provision of services to the University motor vehicle fleet including but not limited to fuel, maintenance, repairs, eTag, registration and insurance.
- Act as a coach and work with team members to facilitate growth and development by giving balanced, constructive feedback considering individual capability and team performance, in alignment with Deakin’s code of conduct and core university strategies and policies that promote a safe, sustainable and productive working environment.

**To be successful, you’ll have**:

- A Degree with subsequent relevant experience; or
- Extensive experience and specialist knowledge or broad knowledge in technical or administrative fields
- An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training. (fleet management, car park management)
- Substantial leadership experience
- Hands on experience in performing transport management activities
- Certificate in Front Line Management or similar leadership program *desirable
- Experienced in working in an ISO 9001 environment *desirable
- Experience in database management *desirable
