**About the opportunity**:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our Aje Athletica Atelier team as a Garment Technician. You will be talented and highly motivated with the ability to combine your technical ability with creativity to develop beautifully crafted collections.

Reporting directly to the Head of Production & Design Operations you will be responsible for the execution and maintenance of fits across our Aje Athletica Essentials collections, ensuring consistency in fit & sizing whilst devising innovative construction solutions to designs.

The Garment Tech is responsible for developing the Aje Athletica Signature fit, consistent across the entire collection. As well as, ensuring all development and production samples conform to the standard required across fit, make, raw materials and sizing, working closely with the Designer, Product Development and Production teams and factories. Expertise in women’s tailoring, dresses and soft separates, and contemporary or luxury fashion is essential.

**Key responsibilities will include**:

- Maintain and agree standard measurements, and record and measure against spec for all styles.
- Ensure measurements are consistent across the supplier base as it expands.
- Undertake regular competitor research to ensure fit and sizing is competitive.
- Define and maintain grading and sizing rules for each garment type.
- Work alongside Product Development Team to ensure all technical specs are clear and any measurement requests are consistent with the standard measurements.
- Measure all samples to ensure they conform to size specifications.
- Flag any variance in sizes prior to fit meetings and ensure factory is informed where appropriate.
- Plan and organise fit meetings, including booking models, sending diary invites, etc.
- Attend and run all collection sample and pre-production fittings to ensure samples conform to the Designer’s vision and are of the correct quality.
- Record all fit comments and relay to the factories, ensuring amendments are accurately reflected in future samples or production.
- Support the factories to solve specific make or construction queries.
- Maintain consistency in sewing rules and make standards, and ensure factories understand the standards required to produce for the brand.
- Inspect and assess pre-production, top of production and shipment samples. Flag any issues that could impact delivery with the Head of Production.
- Alongside Head of Production and Production Team, manage any quality issues and faulty garments to ensure delays are kept to a minimum.
- Report on quality, faults and production each season detailing each factory performance against target.
- Assess any consumer and wholesale returns and ensure any recurring issues are addressed.

**Key skills and qualifications required**:

- Contemporary or luxury fashion experience is essential.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience specialising in women’s tailoring, dresses and soft separates from day to evening.
- Ability to fit to Gold Seal standard.
- Good working knowledge of pattern cutting.
- Excellent fabric knowledge encompassing woven and jersey from delicate to structured fabric bases, technical components and sewing machines.
- Experienced in working in a fast paced environment.
- Experience working factories in China.
- Tenacious, assertive and determined attitude with excellent attention to detail.
- Highly motivated individual with a passion for the brand and it’s future growth
- Proactive interest in keeping at the forefront of product innovation in the athletic industry
- Excellent interpersonal and technical communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders
- Highly organised and numerical with excellent problem solving skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and timelines and ensure deadlines are met and managed based on the importance and timeframe and critical path
- A proven track record working with offshore manufacturing and technical management of suppliers
- Highly Proficient in software and systems like Excel
- An elevated eye for fabrics, finishes, construction, and trims
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to react quickly to feedback and adjust planning accordingly
- An accountable, responsible personality
