Hobart, Australia MEGT Australia Ltd Full time

TasWater are the Tasmanian local and state government-owned body responsible for managing all aspects of Tasmania’s water treatment, drinking water delivery and sewage treatment systems across the state. Our goal is to deliver efficient and reliable water and sewage functions across the state. To do this, we need a strong team of professions across a wide variety of sectors to help us deliver the quality services that Tasmanians have come to rely upon from our businesses.

Because of our commitment to excellence, and our desire to upskill Tasmanians into trades, we’re looking for an Electrical and Instrumentation Apprentice to join our team. We are looking for professional, passionate and dedicated apprentices to join our team to become the next generation of tradespeople within our organisation.

Step one to joining our team is to do your research to make sure TasWater is the right place for you. You can find out more about what we do on our website, plus read about our values and how we work, and most importantly, why we are such a great place to work. We hope you’ll feel like TasWater is a place of great opportunity, where you can make a real difference to your community and be challenged by some amazing projects and innovations along the way. We are excited to learn about what you can bring to our business and hope you’ll be as passionate about our future as we are about yours

In this role, you’ll be working within the Field Services Team towards your qualification in Electrical Instrumentation. The apprenticeship is a 4-year commitment and you’ll be working under a team of skilled tradespeople to learn everything about the trade. You’ll be expected to have strong literacy and numeracy skills as you’ll be required to undertake some classroom training throughout your apprenticeship. Additionally, you’ll need to display your capability of working in a team environment and show a commitment to workplace health and safety.

**Day to day duties will include, but not limited to the following**:

- Assist in maintaining water and wastewater instrumentation
- Installation, calibration and maintenance of electrical and control equipment
- Learn to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams specific to water and wastewater treatment facilities
- Help install, maintain, and repair industrial control systems and power distribution systems including electric motors, motor control devices and other associated equipment
- Solving problems and working with your team to ensure seamless service delivery to all Tasmanians

Please note, to be eligible for an apprenticeship or traineeship you must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or have full working rights.
