**Role**:
As the Leader of Learning, your primary responsibility is to lead the Student Learning Committee in developing consistent school pedagogy in alignment with contemporary best practices, such as HITS. You will also lead the Assessment and Reporting team in developing consistent, accessible, reliable, and valuable approaches to assessment and reporting across the college and community. Working closely with the Learning Specialists, you will coach staff in agreed practices such as teaching models, assessment, and instructional drop-ins. Additionally, you will work with the other members of the leadership team to implement the Annual Implementation Plan Strategies as they relate to this area of college operations.

Furthermore, you will support Learning Area Leaders in the leadership and development of the staff in their learning area, support innovative management and use of resources to support student learning, lead discussions relating to codes of practice, philosophies, methods of operations and commit to agreed directions, undertake professional learning relating to the role of Leader of Learning and actively promote opportunities for other staff members to undertake professional learning relevant to their roles and teaching load.

You will also support College initiatives identified through the Annual Implementation Plan and guide the Learning Area Leaders in the leadership of their Learning Area Teams, ensure that Year 7 - 10 courses are planned, delivered, assessed, and reported according to the Victorian Curriculum including the Capabilities and Digital Technologies where appropriate. At Years 11 - 12, ensure that all VCE Courses are planned, delivered, assessed, and reported according to VCAA guidelines.

**Responsibilities**:
In recognition of the importance of leadership and management combined with exemplary teaching practice for improved student learning outcomes, the key roles of the leading teachers may include but are not limited to:

- Leading and managing the implementation of whole-school improvement initiatives related to the school strategic plan and school priorities
- Leading and managing the implementation of whole-school improvement strategies related to curriculum planning and delivery;
- Leading and managing the provision of professional development and developing individual and team development plans for teaching staff within the priorities of the school;
- Leading and managing staff performance and development (review of staff);
- Teaching demonstration lessons;
- Leading and managing the development of the school's assessment and reporting policies and practices;
- Leading and managing the implementation of the school operations and policies related to student welfare and discipline;
- Leading the development of curriculum in a major learning area and participating in curriculum development in other areas;
- Responsibility for general discipline matters beyond the management of classroom teachers;
