**he Role**

We now have an exciting opportunity available for an Apprentice Gasfitter to join our Networks Operations team, based at our Eagle Farm site on a permanent full time basis.

You will be an integral part of the team, learning from our highly skilled tradespeople.

Your apprenticeship will consist of 2-4 years of both formal classroom training and onsite work experience and once completed you will receive a Certificate III in Gasfitting. Once qualified, there may be the opportunity for permanent employment and further development of your career with APA. Your TAFE fees will be covered by APA, and all equipment and PPE will be provided. You just need to bring your enthusiasm, willingness to learn and be part of a collaborative team.

**As an APA Apprentice you will**:

- Carry out tasks as directed, in line with requirements of Training Plan for Certificate III in Gasfitting.
- Become proficient in the safe use of all types of manually operated equipment associated with excavation work.
- Perform routine checks of all types of equipment associated with gas reticulation.
- Join and repair pipes of all types and sizes, to a standard that meets strict safety and quality standards.
- Assist with the maintenance of network assets associated with district regulator and city gate stations, industrial and commercial meter installations.
- Locate gas reticulation underground plants.
- Site watch for third party activities working around gas assets.
- Locating gas leaks using specialist equipment.
- Attend TAFE and complete the required coursework.

**Requirements**:

- A year 12 school leaver or a mature applicant
- Able to listen carefully, follow directions and have a willingness to work hard in a team environment
- Able to work in confined spaces and to climb stairs
- Licensed to drive a motor vehicle
- An enthusiastic and dedicated learner, with a passion for developing your skills and committed to building your career as a trade-qualified Apprentice Gas Fitter
- Available to commence your career with APA 5 February 2024
