**Casual position**

**$33.35 p/hr casual rate**

MiCare Avondrust Lodge is a state of the art facility which was purpose built with both Elders and Staff in mind, to ensure effective Person Centred Care.

It has small beautiful households of 12 Elders each, with excellent ratios of 1:6 or less which enables carers to achieve best outcomes for the Elders. Social and therapeutic alliances are formed as staff bond with Elders in their households. Staff and Elders get to know each other well. Elders share their wisdom. Staff become proud advocates of these dear members of the household, to continue giving outstanding care.

**About the role...**

We are looking for a hard working and diligent Cleaner on a permanent part time basis that will maintain a clean and hazard free work environment at our Carrum Downs Residential Aged Care facility.

The successful incumbent will be responsible for the daily cleaning of rooms, furniture and fittings, toilets and showers, waste and general areas of the premises. Aged Care experience in a similar role highly advantageous but not essential. Some of key responsibilities of the position include:

- Cleaning floors, mopping surfaces, washing/scrubbing surface areas, dusting, emptying waste, vacuuming
- Team work
- Effective communication
- Elder satisfaction
- Adherence to work health and safety requirements

**About you...**

You will have a flexible, caring, patient attitude and an ability to work in a professional, respectful and proficient manner. You will show initiative in the scope of work practice and commit to continuous improvement.

**Qualifications**
- No formal qualification required
- Certificates in Aged Care/Cleaning advantageous but not essential

**Skills**:

- The ability to accept direction and to work in a team environment with mínimal supervision
- To have a basic knowledge of Work Health and Safety procedures
- The ability to work in a safe and respectful manner
- The ability to work with frail and/or cognitively impaired elders and their families within the Accreditation Standards and funding guidelines
- Good interpersonal skills

**A police check with no disclosable outcome, medicare evidence of current influenza and COVID-19 vaccination is required by MiCare for this position.**

**A commitment to work exclusively with MiCare Residential Aged Care facility as your only employer during COVID-19 will be highly regarded.**
