**About us**

Dr Prem Adhar has over 30 years experience as a GP and has been practicing in the Redland Bay area for more than 15 years.

Adhar Medical Centre provides all the usual GP services, including immunisations and minor surgical procedures.

Adhar Medical Centre takes pride in being a family-friendly practice with a caring approach to all patients. Most of our patients are long-term, so many of our patients know each other, creating a strong community atmosphere.

**Your responsibilities will include**:

- Open and Close clinic as per set procedure
- Greet patients and other callers in a professional and courteous manner
- Make appointments for patients
- Ensure medical records are managed confidentially and efficiently
- Accurately process patient payments via cash, Eftpos, and direct bill transaction.
- Invoice Medicare, Private Health Funds and Workcover.
- Knowledge of the MBS schedule and correct billing procedures
- Deal with referring doctors, hospital staff, pharmacists etc courteously and helpfully attend to patient enquiries
- Maintain the reception waiting area and consulting rooms tidy including the clean up of spills if necessary.
- Ensure the accurate storage and retrieval of patient and practice records with appropriate scanning, faxing and filing of all documents. At all times maintain confidentiality of patient personal and financial information.
- Complete recalls.
- Support the day to day operations of the medical centre.
- Exceptional customer service and teamwork skills.
- High level of computer literacy and IT knowledge.
- Experience using Pracsoft/ Medical director is desirable.

**Selection criteria**:

- Demonstrate ability to work in a team
- Demonstrate strong organisational and problem solving skills
- Demonstrate ability to work in a fast paced environment, including multitasking
- Demonstrate ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders both verbally and in writing
- Demonstrate commitment to quality patient service

**Hours of work**:
This position requires an average of 16 hours per week, working Monday and Wednesday. However, from time to time the Medical Receptionist may be required to work reasonable additional hours, as necessary to fulfil the requirements of the position or as requested by the Practice Manager.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 16 per week

**Salary**: From $25.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Afternoon shift
- Day shift
- Morning shift

**Experience**:

- Medical administration: 1 year (required)

Work Authorisation:

- Australia (required)

Work Location: In person
