Advanced ultrasonic field technician, supporting the project manager in the collection and analysis of inspection data and the generation of detailed reports.

This role is primarily responsible for the technical execution of projects, with a secondary focus on advancing skills for business development. Has proficiency with technical methods and practices of advanced ultrasonic inspection. Develops client relationships with technical presentations and professional client interactions. Shows proficiency in project planning, proposal writing, and pricing. Assists in the development of procedures and new business areas. Demonstrates leadership through safe working practices, quality control, and adherence to company policy and procedure.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The responsibilities of the NDT Technician II are summarised as follows:

- Assists in advanced inspection work under direction from the project manager. Able to work unsupervised and demonstrate innovation when required.
- Focused on conducting commercial work. Projects are completed on budget and on time in an organized manner.
- Leads a scanning team to produce quality inspection data with adherence to procedures and best practices.
- Develops experience in conducting manual ultrasonic testing (MUT) on billable projects in accordance with procedures.
- Analyzes inspection data to produce accurate, detailed results with adherence to procedures and best practices.
- Assists with procedure development and has responsibility for procedure implementation and adherence.
- Generates reports ready for project manager review with accurate and concise detail in a timely manner.
- Contributes to the training and development of subordinate staff.
- Generates project proposals and pricing, ready for commercial and technical review.
- Written communication is technically, numerically, and grammatically correct and clearly communicates technical information, methodology, and results. Presents work in an organized format to facilitate QAQC.
- Demonstrates professional maturity. Oral and written communication are always professional, attire is appropriate for the environment, arrives at meetings on time, practices respectful communication when working in a team, practices organizational skills, conducts oneself in a professional manner. Attendance and work hours are communicated and are appropriate for effective engagement with the group.
- Generates detailed equipment lists and oversees careful and thorough packing / unpacking of equipment for project work. Contributes to the organization, maintenance, and general upkeep of inspection equipment. Treats all equipment with care and respect, with a view to prevent damage and extend the life of inspection assets.
- Attends technical training to develop technical expertise and develop the knowledge and skills required for continued advancement.
- Always make safety a top priority as it relates to you, all colleagues, and our clients’ personnel.
- Strict adherence to company safety policy and practices general safety awareness. Contributes to project related safety discussions as necessary. Contributes to producing safety documentation.

KNOWLEDGE AND REQUIREMENTS:

- AINDT Ultrasonics Level 2 certification.
- ASNT Ultrasonics Level 2 restricted certification.
- Minimum 3 years of related experience.
- Nationally recognized confined space training (within 2 years).
- Completed construction induction training (white card).
- Proficiency with inspection equipment - Epoch 650, Omniscan MX / MX2, Gekko 64.
- Proficiency with data NDT software - ESBeamTool, OmniPC, Tomoview.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Current passport and driver’s license.

- Travel requirement: variable as required but estimated at 40 to 60 percent including international travel.

- Able to work extended hours as required.
- Able to work weekends / public holidays as required.
