**EL1 - Assistant Director, National edposit (NED) Implementation**:

- Manage the National edeposit (NED) product lifecycle
- Manage the service provider relationship with NED member libraries
- Join an iconic national cultural institution in this newly created position

The National Library is seeking to fill the role of Assistant Director, National edeposit (NED) Implementation Engagement (Executive Level 1) within the Collaboration Branch. This role is a leadership position within the Section responsible for coordinating the Library’s NED Service Provider obligations across the Digital and Collaboration Branches.

You will oversee Service Provider responsibilities include scoping, monitoring and advising on the technical implementation of proposed strategic initiatives, maintaining and developing the NED Software, and managing the service provider relationship with NED member libraries. You will also work closely with the NED Program Manager, a NSLA based position, that represents NED member libraries and oversees the strategic planning process for the NED service.

You will be responsible for people, program, project and stakeholder management. You will coordinate a cross-Branch team performing diverse tasks and undertake work that is very complex or sensitive operating under broad direction.

You will provide strategic advice and recommendations to effectively manage the National edeposit product lifecycle, including operations, enhancements and reporting, to meet NED Service Provider obligations.

As Product Owner for the NED Software, you will bring an understanding of evolving data management and digital practices and information management systems including software development and system architecture. You will provide advice and technical expertise to guide operational and strategic development activities affecting the NED service.

To be successful in this newly created position, you will have high level leadership and negotiation capabilities to lead a cross-Branch team to achieve agreed NED outcomes and deliverables. You will develop, coach, manage change, provide conflict resolution and identify staff development needs.

You will be instrumental in developing, maintaining and managing a range of internal and external stakeholder relationships; using your sophisticated liaison skills to work with NED member libraries, staff, contractors, publishers and depositors; and representing the Library effectively.

A merit pool may be established from this recruitment activity which may be used to fill similar roles at the Library.

To be successful in this role you will need experience in product and/or project management, including working across diverse teams and in close consultation with external stakeholders.
