These qualities make Hobsons Bay a highly sought-after residential area and tourist destination.

**The opportunity**

An opportunity has arisen within our Community Safety and Compliance team for a highly motivated, experienced and professional Parking, Local Laws and Animal Management Officer. The position is permanent full-time and involves working within a great team. The successful applicant must have the relevant knowledge and experience, as outlined in the attached position description.

**Key responsibilities**
- Carry out Parking and Local Laws patrols, investigations, surveys, interviews and inspections to ensure compliance throughout the municipality with the relevant legislation and codes of practice.
- Issue infringement notices, attend Court and act as Informant when required, issue Notices to comply, advise and educate the public.
- Maintain proper records of all investigations undertaken and ensure the Team Leader is kept informed of all activities and investigations undertaken.
- When required, perform the functions of an Animal Management Officer under provisions of the Domestic Animals Act 1994 and Hobsons Bay Community Local Law 2015.
- Assist and contribute to the preparation and conduct of public awareness and education campaigns relating to animals.
- Undertake investigations in relation to complaints received and the resolution of complaints in a timely manner.

**About you**
- Completion of Certificate IV in Local Government (Statutory Compliance) and Certificate IV in Local Government ( Animal Management) (desirable).
- Maintain a good working knowledge of all legislation in relation to relevant Acts, Legislations and Local Laws.
- Animal handling experience and knowledge of the Domestic Animals Act.
- Current Victorian driver’s license is essential.
- Current Working with Children Check and willingness to undergo a National Police Check and a pre-employment physical assessment.
