**About Cherry Creek Primary Health Service**:
Barwon Health is partnering with the Department of Justice and Community Safety to provide the health care service at the new Cherry Creek Youth Justice Centre. Cherry Creek is a 140 bed Youth Justice Facility to the west of Werribee in the vicinity of Cherry Creek that accommodates males between 15-17 years of age, both sentenced and on remand.

The services delivered will include emergency response (with support from the Barwon Health Virtual ED), primary care beds, integrated mental health, drug and alcohol services, allied health, general practice and specialist medical care as required. There will be 24/7 nursing coverage on-site as well as a 7-days a week primary care clinic. Diagnostic (pathology and imaging) and pharmacy will also be available on site.

The health care will be integrated in the operations of the Centre and will primarily operate from a state of the art purpose built health facility.

The team will deliver best practice culture, processes and operations. This is how we will ensure Cherry Creek will enhance the outcomes we achieve for the young people in our care and the community.

**About the role**

This position participates in the provision of dental care to Young People at Cherry Creek Youth Justice centre in accordance with their identified needs. The position is based at Cherry Creek Youth Justice Facility but care may also be delivered at any of the Barwon Health dental clinics located at the Belmont, Corio, and Newcomb Community Health Centres. As part of an inter-disciplinary dental team with a focus on population health, the position is responsible for the delivery of high quality dental services to Young people in custody.

Duties will include:

- Day to day clinical making decisions including stock control, infection prevention, patient management
- Day to day reception decisions including appointment scheduling, Emergency Demand Management, waiting list management in consultation with Cherry Creek primary health staff

Essential: Able to meet security checks required by Department of Justice and Community Safety.
Desirable: Certificate IV in Dental Assisting - Oral Health Promotion/Radiography
Desirable: Certificate IV in Sterilisation Services
Desirable: Operator Licence to use Irradiating Apparatus as specified in the Health (Radiation Safety) Regulations (Cert IV in Radiography)
Essential: Awareness of and sensitivity to the unique requirements of clients from disadvantaged groups
Essential: The ability to maintain effective work relationships and clinical effectiveness in an environment which is often pressured
Essential: An interest in improving health and rehabilitation outcome for Young People in Youth Justice
