Conveyor Technicians

On behalf of our client, we are advertising. Continental are looking for Conveyor Technicians to join their team based in Wangara WA 6065 on a full-time basis.
A Conveyor Technician is primarily accountable for completing installation, maintenance, repair, overhaul or assembly of conveyor belts for use in the haulage of hard/soft rock from mine sites.
Tasks will include splicing, fitting and maintenance of conveyor belt cleaners, trackers and associated products; along with completing accurate records of all repairs and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Use of forklift and overhead crane to load/ unload mining equipment and conveyor belts from trucks.
- Ensure that all product received is checked against the packing list and that the appropriate documentation is completed.
- Read and interpret manuals, procedures, and standards.
- Undertake Splicing tasks including:
- Determine and select materials required for each job.
- Accurately measure and calculate belt lengths (materials) required for projects.
- Layout, prepare and repair conveyor belt carcasses.
- Splice fabric and/or steel cord belts.
- Operate vulcanizing press and complete spot presses.
- Complete pulley lagging and rubber lining tasks.
- Inspect machinery and equipment to ensure safe operations and quality control.
- Install and repair mining machinery and conveyor belts.
- Evaluate machinery and equipment to ensure that it meets industry standards.
- Conduct regular maintenance on-site to machinery to prevent breakdowns and loss of customer production.
- Install and repair electrical components including motors, gears, pulleys, & control panels.
Key Requirements.
- Driver’s License - C Class
- Overhead Crane VOC
- Working at heights
- Confined Spaces
- Basic Rigging licence
- Mining Client Inductions - completed during onboarding.
- Minimum 2 years of experience
- Prior experience in a Conveyor Belt Technician role (advantageous)
- Demonstrated experience working in an industrial setting (Mining), working with heavy industrial machinery. Transferrable skills in associated trades include Boiler Makers, Mechanical Engineers.
**Salary**: $40 to 48/hour - Wangara WA 6065
