The People and Culture (P&C) division is responsible for the department’s workforce strategy, and for continuously improving our people policies, processes and systems that align with our strategic goals and objectives to deliver on departmental strategic priorities, for specifically related to the levers of:

- Resourcing and investment
- Accountability and support

The Technical Specialist, Claims operates in a State-wide Injury Management and is responsible for managing highly complex and litigated workers compensation claims in accordance with the Return to Work Act 2014 and Code of Practice for Crown Self-insured Employers. The Technical Specialist, Claims contributes to the achievement of government and departmental injury management targets and objectives through effective administration of legislative requirements and risk management practices in a complex multi-disciplinary team. The Technical Specialist, Claims contributes to the development, implementation and management of departmental injury management procedures and improvement initiatives and undertakes senior level case management including responsibility for the overall cost expenditure related to claims and the representation of the Department at the South Australian Employment Tribunal.

**Qualifications**:
**Essential**: Extensive working knowledge of the Return to Work Act 2014 and significant workers compensation litigation experience

**Desirable**: Legal qualifications

**Special Conditions**:
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN -EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.
