Programmed Health Professionals have an exciting opportunity for someone who is looking for something a little different in the aged care sector.

Our client is seeking **Senior Quality Assessors for a 12 month casual placement, 38 hours a week, Monday to Friday,** working in an accreditation /quality role.

**With extensive travel, this predominantly field based position, will have you travelling either every 2**nd** week or a few days everyweek. (you must have full flexiblity as you never know)**

You will most likely be working away from Brisbane in a regional, rural or remote location across QLD. The alternating week you will be report writing and this can be done from a home office base.

Due to the extensive travel - which is an inherent part of this role. A current drivers licence is essential to support the travel expectations of the role. Travel and food allowances are provided, and you will also be provided with a laptop and tablet device.

**About the Role**

We are looking for the right people to join this high performing team who are responsible for the assessing, auditing, monitoring and overall performance of individual aged care providers (residential, home care and flexible care) auditing against the Aged Care Quality Standards.

**Primary Role Duties include**:

- Undertaking site visits for accreditation audits and performance assessments for residential aged care services, home care services and flexi-care services, either as part of a team or individually
- Engaging with aged care service providers to collect information/evidence, including conducting interviews with service staff and management, to support regulatory functions
- Conducting interviews with consumers and/or their representatives about the quality of care and services provided by an aged care service either in person or on the telephone.
- Preparing well-reasoned and accurate reports for a delegate, on your assessment of the quality of care and services provided by a service to inform statutory decisions within legislated timeframes.

**Applicants must be able to demonstrate the following specific capabilities**
- Understand and comply with legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks in particular Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission Act and Rules 2018 and the Aged Care Quality Standards, or be able to demonstrate a capacity to quickly acquire this knowledge.
- Critically analyse information including and communicate key points clearly and succinctly both orally and in writing
- Be an effective representative of the organisation, acting professionally and operating within the boundaries of organisational processes and legal and public policy directions
- Understand and identify risk and potential harms in an aged care service and then escalate findings with in the Commissions Regulatory Risk Management Framework
- Work effectively as a team member and or team leader to accomplish organisational goals, this may include mentoring other staff.
- Travel Expectations

**To be successful in this role you must have**:

- **STRONG inter-personal skills and EXCELLENT written and verbal communication skills**:

- Experience preferable in regulatory, quality, audit or compliance roles (preferably health or human services related)
- Clinical and/or Government experience is highly favourable (preferable health or human services related)
- Experience in management is preferable
- A current QLD driver's license
- Rights to work in Australia

**Engagement is conditional on**
- Successfully completing a national police check
- Providing evidence of having had a seasonal influenza vaccination and Covid-19 vaccinations
- Being able to meet the travel requirements and have a current drivers licence
