**The Role**
Base Manager (BM) is required to understand the capability outputs at their respective establishment and actively work to achieve outcomes that recognise this. The BM will manage complex customer relationships, including the management of stakeholder expectations as well as negotiate and liaise with stakeholders both internally and externally to ensure positive outcomes. The BM will plan and oversee the implementation of safety, risk, emergency and security management on the base to ensure smooth running of the base.
**About our Team**
The Northern & Central Zone (NCZ) sits within the Service Delivery Division (SDD) and provides a wide variety of products and services to support Defence capability. The NCZ provides essential, on-the-ground services and support to Defence personnel in South Australia, the Northern Territory and Queensland.
The NCZ is structured to optimise support to Defence and consists of Base Management, Estate Management, Planning, Environment, and Sustainability Teams in each State and Territory as well as a Zone Operations & Coordination Team, based in Queensland.
The NCZ deliver a range of essential services to sustain Defence's living, working and training environment, delivering whole-of-base planning and coordination and contributing to stewardship of the Defence estate. NCZ also manages the most significant and largest training areas and ranges in Australia enabling substantial multinational and bilateral exercises.
To be effective in the positions you will have strong service delivery experience, coupled with highly developed relationship management and stakeholder engagement capabilities. The positions require someone who is a strong team player focused on achieving effective outcomes.
