**About the role**
- The successful applicant will be a passionate
**Teacher Librarian**, with the capacity to deliver exceptional learning opportunities in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
- In this role, you will be expected to:

- Prepare and deliver effective information literacy lessons in accordance with the BCE syllabus requirements
- Design lessons in a way that excites students and instils a deep appreciation of literature and reading
- Plan collaboratively to support classroom teachers
- Promote the library as a community hub
- Organise library-based events
- Foster the spirit of inquiry in an environment supportive of a diversity of learners and learning styles
- Effectively manage the library and information resources and services for the school community.

**About you** - To be successful in this role you will bring relevant qualifications and contemporary teaching experience as well as:

- Strong literacy, numeracy and digital literacy practices plus a clear understanding of the Australian Curriculum
- Commitment to child safety
- Exemplary communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven organisational skills
- Commitment to engage with colleagues, students, and parents/carers to achieve the best outcomes
- Demonstrated competence against the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers across professional knowledge, practice and engagement.

At BCE our teachers are required to:

- Hold a current Queensland College of Teachers registration; and
- Be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.

Mt Maria College, North Brisbane’s first Catholic Co-Educational College, was established in 1978. If this role does not require you to teach Religious Education, you do not need to be Catholic.
