Toowoomba Grammar School is looking for a knowledgeable and dynamic Finance Officer. TGS staff are passionate about boys’ education and providing an inspiring and broad curriculum for all boys informed by best practice and evidence.

**About Toowoomba Grammar School**

Toowoomba Grammar School was founded in 1875. It is an independent non-denominational day and boarding school for boys with a total enrolment of 1,200 from Preparatory to Year 12. There are approximately 300 boarders in the School coming predominantly from throughout Queensland, Northern New South Wales and the Northern Territory. The School’s campus covers 20.5 hectares and is located one kilometre from the centre of Toowoomba.

It is our vision that our boys will graduate from TGS with the skills to be independent, well-balanced, and successful in life. That they are boys of good character who respond well to challenges and achieve life-long wellbeing.

**About the Position**

The Finance Officer will provide holistic support to all functions of the Finance Office, including but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, cash receipting and other financial operations. This role will be suited to an ‘all rounder’ who is experienced and adaptable to change.

Integral to this role will be your ability to manage multiple and competing deadlines, excellent communication and organisation skills. We are looking for someone with excellent customer service and a positive approach.

**Selection Criteria**:
You will be able to demonstrate your ability and commitment to:

- possesing general ‘all rounder’ knowledge of the key functions of a busy finance department
- showing initiative and be driven to provide solutions focused outcomes
- displaying highly developed communication skills and having the ability to simplify explanations for internal and external stakeholders to understand
- being able to communicate with influence and maintain high levels of confidentiality
- promote a proactive service approach to all customers and have a ‘can do’ attitude

Toowoomba is one of Australia’s largest inland cities, with a population around 162,000 people. It is a beautiful provincial city and is known as “The Garden City” of Queensland. Toowoomba is ideally situated less than 1.5 hours by car from Brisbane and two hours from the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast. Regional public transport is available with connections to interstate and international transport networks. This includes the Wellcamp Airport providing direct interstate flights. The city has an extensive infrastructure including three hospitals, a University, TAFE and many schools.
