The Indigenous Health team in the Graduate School of Medicine (GSM) is seeking a teaching intensive Associate Lecturer or Lecturer to lead and provide Indigenous medical student support and foster Indigenous student success within the Doctor of Medicine (MD) program.
In this role you will collaborate with GSM staff and key partners within UOW and community organisations and members. You will lead Indigenous medical student support and work collaboratively to develop, implement, monitor and evaluate support strategies that improve Indigenous student wellbeing, cultural safety and satisfaction. You will also undertake scholarly activities within the Indigenous Health discipline and activities related to Community engagement.
To be successful you must be of Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage with a post-graduate degree in a health discipline or related field with subsequent relevant work experience. Excellent oral and written communications skills along with a strong understanding of Indigenous health issues in an Australian context and an ability to build links and connections with the Indigenous community is essential. Additionally demonstrated experience in delivering high quality academic programs within the higher education sector and experience working in a community-based Indigenous health position will be highly regarded.
