KU Wickham, located in the picturesque harbour-side suburb of Wickham and just a stone's throw from the Newcastle CBD.

Established over 70 years ago, KU Wickham was the first free Kindergarten in Newcastle. Our preschool operates from a historically significant Italianate building, originally constructed as Council Chambers in 1889. With thoughtful renovations in 2000, we’ve added a spacious playroom featuring floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook our beautifully landscaped playground and the adjacent public park

KU Wickham is situated on Crown Land dedicated to sport and recreation, surrounded by lush parklands, various sporting facilities, and a community garden. This unique setting offers a dynamic and inspiring environment for both children and educators.

**What We’re Looking For**:

- Enthusiastic and committed educators passionate about early childhood education.

This role will see you working 8 hours per day on Thursday and Friday. You would also have access to additional shifts/support hours or days through our KUCas team if interested. This is a contracted position until January 2025 so it’s a fantastic pathway into a longer term career with KU.

**Applicants should have**:

- Australian working rights
- A current NSW Working with Children Check
- An ACECQA recognised Diploma qualification
- Completed and valid first aid and CPR certificates
- Completed Child Protection Training as well as demonstrated understanding of current child safe practices
- Sound understanding of the Education and Care Services National Law (2010) and the Education and Care Services National Regulations (2011)
- Working knowledge of the Early Years Learning Frameworks (EYLF)
