We are seeking a dedicated Paediatrician to join a leading regional health service in Victoria.
In this role, you will provide comprehensive paediatric care, including inpatient and outpatient services, community paediatric clinics, and outreach services to nearby regions. You will also contribute to on-call duties, clinical leadership, teaching, and the development of the paediatric service.
**About the Health Service**:
The hospital is a sub-regional, integrated provider of primary, secondary, and tertiary care. With a 24-hour emergency department, a Level 4 obstetric service, and a Level 3 nursery, the hospital delivers exceptional care to a diverse and growing community.
The paediatric team manages approximately 450 births annually and supports around 25% of the 17,000 annual emergency presentations that are paediatric cases.
Located in a beautiful regional area of Victoria, the hospital serves an immediate population of 50,000 and provides specialist services to a broader region. The area is known for its stunning natural landscapes, vibrant local community, and excellent schools, making it an ideal location for professionals and families alike.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Provide safe, high-quality paediatric care across inpatient, outpatient, and emergency settings.
- Act as a clinical leader within the paediatric unit, fostering collaboration and excellence.
- Participate in the on-call paediatric roster, with consultants serving as first on-call.
- Contribute to teaching and supervision of junior medical staff and trainees.
- Engage in clinical governance, quality improvement activities, and service planning.
- Deliver outreach services to nearby regions as rostered.
**Essential Criteria**:
- Registration or eligibility for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) or equivalent.
- Doctors deemed partially or substantially comparable may be considered.
- Proven experience in delivering high-quality paediatric care.
- Strong leadership, teaching, and communication skills.
**Desirable**:
- Experience working in regional or rural healthcare settings.
