We have an exciting opportunity for a **SMT Operator** **to join our Production team on a full-time basis. Working 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday.

**Reporting to the Associate Production Manager, the SMT Operator will be responsible for**:

- Operational machine setup, screening, and programming tasks as required.
- Monitor production processes to identify and rectify any non-conforming processes promptly.
- Inspect work to prevent defects and ensure adherence to quality standards, including visually inspecting assemblies for damage, non-conformance, cleanliness, component mounting, installation, and soldering quality.
- Efficiently perform job changeovers to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency.
- Operate Solder Paste Screen Printer, ensuring output meets acceptability standards and taking corrective actions as needed.
- Monitor component placement accuracy and take necessary actions to maintain line performance within specifications, while understanding feeder sizes and pitches.
- Modify machine programs as necessary to optimize performance and meet production requirements, including loading feeders according to setup sheets using work instructions (WI) or machine manuals.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
- Provide technical support to improve SMT operations and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, with an overview knowledge of IPC-A-610 standards.
- Assist in developing and implementing maintenance strategies to maximize machine availability, performance, and yield, and log the time taken for each task against the specific job to track productivity.

**To be successful in this role you will have the following qualifications and experience**:

- Previous experience as a Grade 2 operator plus demonstrated experience in machine set-up, screening, machine operation, on-line/ off-line programming, trouble shooting, undertaking inspections, profiling, rework and train the trainer.
- Soldering skills.
- Highschool or Diploma or minimum experience of 3 months in relevant position.
- Effective communication skills and computer literate
