**About this Role**

As Finance Officer you will assist the Financial Accounting Team in all aspects of financial management while providing support and assistance to the wider Accounting Services team.

In this position you will have a range of responsibilities including:

- Responding to general enquiries with regard to costing and other financial matters, and processing authorised journal adjustments to the financial system.
- Reconciling on a daily basis all Council's bank accounts, and reconcile on a monthly basis (at a minimum) all Suspense, Trust, Deposit, Prepayment and Debtors Control Accounts.

You will also assist the team in tasks such as preparing Council's monthly ATO Business Activity statement, and may have the opportunity to provide input into policy and procedure development.

**About You**

For this position we are seeking an enthusiastic individual with excellent interpersonal skills and experience in accounting or related financial services.

You will have:

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to gain cooperation from staff.
- Efficient time management skills and ability to effectively plan and prioritise work.
- Computer literacy including experience in Microsoft Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to follow guidelines and procedures.

All successful applicants will need to successfully obtain a Police Check and hold a valid employee Working with Children Check.
