**About the Role**
MPG is seeking an enthusiastic, skilled and reliable individual as our Workshop Manager.

Servicing, maintenance, fabrication and repair of:

- Plant & Equipment including Heavy Equipment
- Hand Tools (Powered)
- Hand Tools Other

**REPORTS TO**:
Managing Director, Operations Support

This will start out as a casual job with the potential to convert to a full time position.

**Primary tasks include, but are not limited to**:

- Plant & Equipment:

- Maintenance
- Repairs
- On-Site breakdown attendance
- Review Vehicle/Tractor pre-starts to identify preventative maintenance
- Maintain the maintenance requests log
- Complete detailed maintenance reports for all work undertaken
- Actively pursue spare parts once they are ordered
- Purchase machinery/workshop consumables
- Purchase of petrol/diesel
- Welding and/or fabrication of parts
- General house keeping of the workshop area
- First Aid Officer

**Additional Activities;**
- Waste management of workshop/depot generated waste
- Arrange Fire and First Aid 6 monthly audits
- Arrange Test and Tag bi annual audit
- Set up new Plant/Equipment/Vehicles with safety equipment (fire, first aid, spill, fuel)
- Maintain equipment manuals
- Spray painting
- Assists in the purchasing of plant, equipment, hand tools and consumables
- Maintain current SDS for all hazardous substances stored and used
- Collaborate on supplier selection & performance monitoring
- Trigger and participate in risk assessments on new/changed activities
- Assisting the Works Crew with gardening work should the need arise or time allow

**KEY SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES**:

- Mechanical Aptitude
- Experience with heavy equipment
- Qualification - Boiler Maker and/or Mechanical Fitter and/or relevant experience
- Licenses - Car, Heavy Rigid

**ACCOUNTABILITIES**:

- Maintain operational plant & equipment
- Maintain Equipment Service Schedule and Records
- Maintain Fire Equipment and First Aid Service Schedule and Records
- Co-ordinate Prescribed Waste disposal and associated paperwork
- Vehicle Registration Coordination and Labelling
