Upholstery Assistant

A professional commercial furniture business that has been in operation for 30 years is seeking to employ an Upholstery Assistant to work in their Upholstery Department. The position is casual to commence with, however there maybe an opportunity to make the transition to a permanent position.

The duties associated with this position include:

- Working with a wide variety of fabrics.
- Cutting materials to required size/s.
- Using adhesive.
- Adhering to safe work practices.
- Contributing with work colleagues for effective workflow.
- Reading and interpreting design/s &/or plans for work implementation.

**Requirements**:

- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to use a variety of hand tools.
- Adherence to work health and safety policies and procedures.
- Previous experience at working with fabrics.
- Upholstery trade qualifications are desired but not necessarily essential.
- Previous experience at operating a plasma or laser cutter would be well regarded.
