**Description**:
The Opportunity

We have an opportunity for a Housing Officer to provide our residents with housing-related services to support their tenancy whilst meeting the needs of the business.
You will get an opportunity to deliver quality tenancy management services to our residents. You will manage relationships constructively to achieve sustainable tenancies to enhance opportunities for residents to achieve quality life outcomes.

Additionally, you will undertake inspections, complaints management, following the residential tenancy act and undertaking various admin duties as required by the role.
The role will work closely with the property team and community development staff.

If you are a private real-estate professional with private tenancy management experience and you are seeking a transition to a more purposeful role, this may be the position for you, as your existing knowledge and experience in the sector are transferable. We will provide ample training opportunities, provided you are willing to learn to become a social housing professional. In return, you will work for a purposeful, rapidly expanding national organisation tackling homelessness and committed to staff well-being and flexible working options with opportunities for learning and growth.

The role is full-time ongoing role based at our Preston Office.

**Skills and Experiences**:
**About You**:

- Experience or knowledge in working with people that are at risk of homelessness or have other complex issues.
- Knowledge of legislation and regulatory frameworks relating to housing such as the Residential Tenancies Act Victoria.
- Sound knowledge of tenancy and disability legislation and frameworks and how it relates to housing.
- Degree in Social Sciences, housing, Public Sector Management, Social Work or related disciplines or equivalent experience
- Experience dealing with complex and challenging housing management issues including eviction and court proceedings.
- Well-developed written and oral communication skills including mediation and conflict resolution.
- Well-developed organisational skills including ability to manage competing priorities.
- A team player with a capacity to function autonomously.
- Experience in managing a sizeable portfolio of tenancies in the public/community or private sector housing.

Desirable
- Knowledge of the Community Housing Sector and/or property industry and tenancy management practices.
- Experience dealing with complex and challenging housing management issues including eviction and court proceedings.
- Knowledge and experience in the use of Microsoft Office and the capacity to use/ learn new systems and databases such as a housing management database
