**The Opportunity**
Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Services team are seeking an experienced Aviation Maintenance (145 / MRO) Professional to support a world class rotary-wing platform as an**Aircraft Maintenance Engineer - Avionics.**This role is based at **RAAF Base Townsville**in tropical North Queensland and supports the Apache Program.
Working side by side with our Australian Defence Force Customer, you will play a vital role in the maintenance of the **Boeing**AH-64 Apache**avionics and electrical systems and associated equipment.
Technical training on the aircraft may require the successful applicant to travel overseas or domestically for periods of time to achieve Military Aircraft Type Rating for their MAML.
**Responsibilities**
The Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) is responsible for the maintenance, modification, servicing, inspection, testing and troubleshooting of aircraft systems, associated components and associated equipment within the scope of their applicable: trade; qualifications; training; competency; and, Approved Maintenance Organisation (AMO) authorisation(s).
The AME shall also supervise other AMEs and provide mentorship to subordinate technicians in the development of their pathway to success.
**Experience / Qualifications**
- **Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Avionics)**:
- Be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of Aviation Quality Assurance (QA) procedures and the DASR 145 Aircraft Maintenance Regulatory Framework
- Hold a **DASR Part 66 Military Aircraft Maintenance Licence (MAML) - Category B2**:
- ** Previous experience as a maintenance certifier / trade supervisor (E62 Exclusion removed)**:
- A high level of verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to successfully interact with co-workers, maintaining productive working relationships to meet team, business unit and organisational goals
- Be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of Environmental, Health and Safety procedures
- Have a working knowledge of computer-based maintenance management systems
- Able to obtain and maintain a Defence security clearance of NV1
