**YOUR DAY TO DAY LIFE**

We are looking for a **Lab Tester** in 20 King St, Blackburn, Melbourne 3130 AUS. Your mission will be to:
Make, dispense and label all-purpose media including broths and agar, liquids
and solids, using aseptic techniques for microbial testing by the laboratory.
2 Sterilise the media with the autoclave at the appropriate temperature and
within required parameters to prevent microbial contamination.
3 Store the media at the specified temperature, under specified conditions and
not longer than the shelf-life periods appropriate to each product.
4 Record purchased media in the laboratory LIMS system to track stock and
supplies.
5 Carry out quality control tests, such as pH, sterility and stability to ensure that
the media is within specification and that the media preparation is satisfactory
to prevent cross-contamination.
6 Decontaminate used media with the autoclave and dispose of hazardous
waste and spent/surplus media safely by prescribed methods.
7 Clean designated areas using appropriate cleaning agents and procedures to
keep the laboratory fit for purpose.
8 Wash and operate the dishwasher to clean glassware and equipment, wrap for
sterilisation and store appropriately for laboratory use.
9 Adhere to PPE requirements for conducting media activities, in addition to the
minimum PPE requirements of the laboratory.
10 Participate in laboratory team meetings as required

**YOUR PROFILE**

Experience in a similar Microbiology position within an analytical laboratory environment.
Ideally, experience in a service (scientific or technical) based organisation.
Awareness of NATA and TGA requirements, as well as working to GLP and GMP standards.
Experience using a laboratory LIMS system to record the media.
Experience in working in a team to achieve results.
