The Environment & Heritage (E&H) Group within DPE brings together a range of functions including national park management, biodiversity and conservation, climate change, sustainability, resilience and adaptation, renewable energy and energy security, and circular economy policy. The work of the Group is supported by centres of excellence in policy; science, economics; data analytics and insights.
The Grants Branch within Governance, Strategy and Coordination division supports the NSW Environmental Trust (Trust) in the administration and governance of the grant programs and the DPE-funded Coastal Estuary and Floods (CEF) programs.
- The three roles sit within the following teams:_
**Major Projects**: The Major Projects team is responsible for co-designing and managing long-term, multi-million-dollar grant projects on behalf of the Trust. With a strong focus on the natural environment, our projects range from funding innovative biocontrol research to supporting threatened species and managing feral animals.
**Contestables**: The Contestable Grants team develop and support multi-million-dollar projects funded under the Trust’s Contestable programs with focus on the natural environment, education, research and Aboriginal cultural knowledge and protection on Country. This includes program design and development, collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders, oversight of existing grant programs, evaluation of programs/projects and contribution to continual process improvement.
**Waste**: The Waste team delivers a suite of programs in partnership with NSW Environment Protection Authority. The initiative includes programs for local government, business, industry and the community. The programs support and complement each other, and together form a comprehensive approach to improving the management of waste materials in NSW.
Each team is responsible for overseeing administrative support to the Technical Review Committees and their role in Trust governance alongside implementing effective project management to ensure projects and programs are successfully delivered and outcomes achieved.
The roles are based in the Parramatta office, with flexible working options available.
**About You**

This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside a passionate group of people managing projects that have tangible, on-the-ground environmental outcomes.? You’ll be joining a dynamic branch committed to collaboration, innovation, and a culture of inclusivity.

You will have strong project management skills, stakeholder engagement experience, sound judgement and attention to detail. Experience related to natural environment projects and/or grants management will be highly regarded.

You will be responsible for overseeing the management of the Trust grants throughout their lifecycle. This can include project scoping and co-design with the grantee, collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders, financial management, dealing with complex issues, evaluation of projects and continual process improvement.

**Knowledge and experience**:

- Experience in project management, including stakeholder engagement, and budget and performance management
- Proven ability to work autonomously and engage with stakeholders to achieve program and project outcomes whilst exercising sound judgement and discretion
- Experience in supporting the management of programs that require a high level of governance, accuracy and accountability is highly regarded.
