**Role Description/Criteria**

St John the Apostle Catholic Primary School is located in Tarneit and our vision states:

We are currently seeking a Learning Support Officer who is able to commence Term 1, 2024. Successful applicants will work with students in a range of settings, including individually, in small groups and within learning centres.

Our Learning Support Officers work in partnership with teachers and the Learning Diversity Leader, to implement the adjustments outlined for students in their Personalised Learning Plans (PLPs).

Learning Support Officers at St John's assist students in their academic, behavioural, personal care, physical care, or social emotional needs throughout the school day.

In line with NCCD requirements support staff maintain notes and record student progress and other duties as directed by the Principal or Learning Diversity Leader.***

**Applicants should be able to demonstrate**:

- A commitment to the ethos of Catholic Education
- A commitment to the safety and wellbeing of the students
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- The ability to work as part of a team and a willingness to be flexible
- The capacity to build positive relationships
- The ability to differentiate practices and approaches to cater for individual learning
- Be self-motivated and able to work independently if necessary

**Special Requirements**

The successful applicant should have:

- Current Working With Children Check
- Current Police Check
- Child Safety - be familiar with and comply with the schools child safe policy and code of conduct and any other policies and procedures relating to child safety.
- Certificate IV in Education Support preferred but not essential
