The **Tasmanian Walking Company** (TWC) have been walking for over 30 years, offering amazing wilderness experiences to our guests in some of Tasmania's most special and remote wilderness locations. We work to deliver a truly immersive experience as we create connections between people and place in remote cultural landscapes through our boutique multi-day walking experiences.
Whilst our roots lie in Tassie, we operate on mainland Australia as The Australian Walking Company (AWC) and are excited to be experiencing a growth phase in the business as we introduce a number of new walks.

**About the Role**
We currently have two casual opportunities available, working a roster pattern of day shifts 5- 8 hours per day a min of 3-4 days a fortnight.
The Cobia Skipper is responsible for facilitating a safe and enjoyable cruising experience for guests on our Three Capes Lodge walk. This will be achieved through the management, maintenance, and oversight of Cobia, as well as the implementation of safe systems and procedures, guest service standards. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
**Cobia Skipper Management**
- Master of ‘Cobia’ a 10.5m RIB maintaining high standards of comfort and operational performance and maintaining or exceeding the Australian national standard for commercial vessels.
- Ongoing upkeep and maintenance of the vessel and associated company assets.
- Adhere to all licensing conditions for the vessel and its operations, including as per AMSA requirements and Safety Management System.
- Work with the REM to implement WHS measures to ensure staff are appropriately informed, trained and supervised to work in a safe and healthy manner, and ensure guest and staff safety.
- Provide quality assurance through support and development of relevant experience for employees,
- Coordination of the vessel, including transportation, arranging refuelling and cleaning, conducting pre-start checks to ensure the boat is guest ready.
- Current logbook experience showing evidence working on similar vessels.
- Coxswain NC1
**What you will bring**
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who has an interest in the travel and hospitality industry and are passionate about the Australian Wilderness.
The ideal individual will have a passion being on the water, experience in marine tourism (preferable but not essential), is professional, people focused, and will have demonstrated experience in small boat operations. In addition, you will have:
- A minimum Two years' experience in small boat operations.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- Current Provide First Aid (or Level 2 equivalent) and CPR certificate.
- Sound working knowledge of the Tasmanian Marine & Safety Regulations 2013 and the Australian Maritime Safety Authority Act 1990 plus associated Maritime legislation.
- Excellent Marine maintenance and engineering skills.
- Exceptionally organized with keen attention to detail and excellent time management skills.
