We are the Core Accessibility Team with expertise in research, design, engineering, programme management, assistive technologies, and more. We work across the company to help teams build accessibility expertise, understand user needs and create great experiences that are inclusive and easier for everyone to use.
In this role, reporting to the Head of Accessibility, you will build our internal Accessibility Champions programme and help employees across the company put accessibility into action in their teams. You are a programme manager, community organiser, communications professional, or similar with experience in digital accessibility.
**What you'll do**:
- Establish our internal Accessibility Champions programme to help the Core Accessibility Team scale across Atlassian
- Organise educational programmes and events to increase each champion's level of expertise
- Ensure Accessibility champions have everything they need from the central Accessibility team to succeed
- Manage our IAAP (International Association of Accessibility Professionals) membership and connect our employees with professional benefits like training, webinars, certification, and more
- Coordinate work with team mates who lead our accessibility training programme, expert consultation, testing services, and more
**Your background**:
- Extensive professional experience working on digital Accessibility with product design, engineering and related functions
- Experience integrating Accessibility technical standards like WCAG and ARIA into business or engineering practices
- Experience recruiting and organising cross-company employee networks - providing a structured approach to pursue a common goal
- Experience working on Accessibility at scale (5000+ employees) in a technology company
- Understanding of assistive technologies and the way people use them
- You embrace diversity and are receptive to new ideas and people with different lived experiences
**Great but not required**:
- Experience working in a central Accessibility programme with an Accessibility Champions programme
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle for Accessibility and what is required to deliver high quality, Accessible products and experiences
- Professional certifications, such as IAAP's CPACC, WAS, or CPWA
