**The Position**
An exciting full-time position currently exists for an experienced
**Metal Fabricator** to join their skilled team located in the Fairfield area and contribute to the manufacture of a range of high-quality products in a safe and collaborative environment. These include automatic sliding doors, swing folding doors, revolving doors, security doors, airtight and and one-way door systems.

As a Metal Fabricator in this organisation, your primary responsibility will be to follow health and safety standards, ensuring a safe workplace and maintaining cleanliness in your workstation and the production floor. Some adhoc site insttallation will be available on occassion.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- You will utilize your expertise in cutting, bending and drilling steel and aluminium to specifications
- Reading and working from plans and written instructions
- Manufacture and assemble products and parts as directed by the production supervisor.
- Operate and maintain machinery and production equipment including metal band saws, drills, grinders, impact drivers
- Monitor the assembly process, identifying and removing any faulty products.
- Adhere to health, safety, and environmental procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with the team to implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Promote a positive and professional factory operation.
- Occasionally assist with deliveries or collections of parts or finished goods.
- Comply with company procedures
- Maintain effective communication with all internal / external stakeholders

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Trade Qualification in Metalwork Industry. (Essential)
- Current Forklift License (favorable).
- 2-3 years of experience in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of WHS requirements and safe machinery and powertool usage.
- Proven experience working collaboratively in a team environment.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality control.
- Effective communication skills at all levels.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to processes and procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret cut sheets and written instructions.
- Efficient problem-solving skills with a positive attitude.
- Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised.
