RWE Renewables Australia is seeking a Stakeholder Engagement Advisor to join our growing team.

We have an enviable team culture, the support of a global company with 19,000 employees and an exciting Australian pipeline of renewable energy projects.
The role can be based anywhere on the eastern seaboard, with regular travel required between the Melbourne head office and Queensland.
Reporting to the Communications and Stakeholder Engagement Manager, the position will involve engaging with stakeholders in project communities, including landholders, neighbours, community groups and other interested parties.
You will also work closely with Project Development Managers and the internal development team to help RWE achieve the growth of our Australian portfolio, as well as social license in the communities where our projects are based.

**Your responsibilities**
- Support community engagement and outreach activities within RWE’s Australian portfolio of operating and development projects
- Collaborate with our project teams to facilitate a social license to operate
- Conduct research and stakeholder mapping exercises to underpin the development and implementation of community engagement plans for development projects
- Assist with the implementation of these community engagement plans
- Attend and assist with the planning of community events, including tours of renewable energy projects, open houses, landowner dinners, school or community group presentations, local fairs and festivals
- Provide advice on community needs and project topics of particular interest to project communities
- Interaction with sometimes adversarial stakeholders
- Document stakeholder interactions and concerns within our internal CRM system
- Provide advice on benefit sharing programs within project communities

**Your skills**
- 6-10 years providing community and stakeholder engagement, preferably in the energy or major project sector
- Experience working in rural communities
- Understanding of the complexities of developing renewable energy projects in Australia
- Proven ability to empathize, build relationships, and effectively communicate with people from a diverse set of backgrounds
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Experience working on sometimes controversial projects
- Comfortable with public speaking and presentations

**Desired but not essential**
- Renewable energy sector experience
- University degree in journalism, communications, public relations or similar discipline or equivalent
- iap2 training
- Understanding of the planning process for renewable energy projects
- Knowledge of the energy sector, particularly renewable energies
- Background in journalism or written communications
- Proven ability to manage adversarial stakeholders
- Event coordination skills - wind farm tours, open houses, landowner dinners, other community events
