About the role

We are seeking a values-driven and proactive Ministry Assistant who will be responsible for supporting the Corps Leader in the delivery of the mission of The Salvation Army.

Reporting to the Corps Leader, this is a permanent part-time position, (30.4 hours per week) based in Southport, QLD.

You will successfully
- General Administration Tasks including recording of Statistical information, Generous Life Giving Records, and the Corps Directory, Rolls and Records are completed in accordance with TSA procedures
- Responsibility for the Coordination and leadership of the Doorways Programme and Christmas Welfare Response within Corps.including maintenance of the Emergency Relief Pantry
- Assist the Corps Leader in the Management of the Centre including Hall Hire Engagement, Security Monitoring and Property Maintenance Responsibilities
- Coordinate the opportunities for Corps Fellowship Gatherings and other opportunities for relational connection
- Assist the Community Engagement Worker in the operation of the Red Shield Appeal and other public fundraising activities undertaken by the Corps
- Responsibility to ensure that all ministry activities are carried out in accordance with TSA policies and procedures

You will have
- A commitment to the Christian faith and mission of The Salvation Army
- An ability to offer pastoral assistance, to offer prayer and to explain the Christian Gospel
- Experience in a Ministry position (desirable)
- A solid understanding of TSA Doctrines & Principles (desirable)
- Capacity to facilitate groups and one to one with a particular focus e.g. faith-based groups
- A member / soldier of a local Salvation Army Corps
- Experience working in a multicultural context
- Enrolled and active Solider / Adherent of the Salvation Army - preferred
- A current and valid Working with Children Check
- A national police record check is required
- A current QLD Driver's Licence
- Compulsory Code of Conduct, WHS and Bullying and Harassment training modules are completed and up to date
