The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) is seeking a Contract Officer to provide a critical role in the Contracts and Infrastructure Branch within Corrections Victoria.
About us
The Contracts and Infrastructure Branch are responsible for contract management, commercial oversight and advisory services, as well as the effective management and maintenance of all Corrections and Justice Services' prison and related infrastructure. This includes:
- The management and oversight of major contracts including those for private prisons.
- Representing the Corrections and Justice Services' interests on infrastructure and construction projects to ensure the best possible outcome for stakeholders and commercial partners.
- The development and implementation of all required systems, processes and policies to sustain this diverse asset portfolio.
About the role
The Contract Officer will contribute to the management of range of complex asset contracts and support implementation of contract initiatives including commercial negotiations, procurement activities and briefings to senior staff and stakeholders.
In addition, the Contract Officer will manage the administration and records management for the team, in order to ensure transparency and best practice is maintained.
This role will allow you to contribute to the improvement of facilities and infrastructure in the public prison system which will result in positive material outcome for staff, prisoners and visitors.
**Some of your duties will include**:
- Undertake a range of administrative functions including taking minutes, preparing agendas and distribute papers for various meetings including interdepartmental meetings, meetings with the private sector contractor and other consultants and meetings within the department.
- Prepare high level detailed briefings and reports on contractual and operational issues to senior management, including the Commissioner, Secretary and Ministers that may involve integrating complex information from a variety of sources with limited direction
- Keep accurate and complete records of your work activities in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's records, information security and privacy policies and requirements.

This includes evidence of three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine required by the department (from time to time).

- Your immunisation history statement (available via your myGov account)
Other documentation outside the above will not be accepted as evidence of having received your COVID-19 vaccine doses.
